Connecting a Google mailbox used to mean turning on two-factor auth, generating an app password, finding the right SMTP and IMAP host names and ports, and getting all of it correct in one go. It is the step where most people give up.

You can now connect a Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox by authorising it. No app password, no server settings — sending and reply checking both work through the authorised connection.

Manual SMTP/IMAP setup is still there for every other provider, and mailboxes of both kinds behave identically everywhere else in the product.
